The Bylaws of NUCA (National Utility Contractors Association) require that a member located in an area covered by a local or state-affiliated chapter is required to join NUCA through the chapter. The Bylaws of UCARI (Utility Contractors Association of Rhode Island) require that a member must be a member of NUCA unless otherwise noted.

	NUCA* Contractor Member Utility Contractor is defined as any person, firm or corporation actively engaged in the construction and/or rehabilitation of utility systems including, but not limited to, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and drainage systems, water lines, cables (underground communication and electric), ducts, conduits, gas lines, tunneling, boring, trenchless construction, treatment systems, pump stations and all other utility construction and appurtenances thereof.

* Note: A portion of dues is paid to NUCA for national membership. Dues are billed annually.
